Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Brunate 2015
£425.00
The winery of Giuseppe Rinaldi, who has since passed on, was born in 1890 thanks to Battista Rinaldi who originally purchased the land. The true winemaking legacy began in the 1920s when the current owner's grandfather, Giuseppe, brought the vineyards to life. His son, Battista, revolutionized winemaking techniques, laying the groundwork for his son, also named Giuseppe, to carry on the legacy. Today, he remains deeply connected to the land and tradition, running the estate along with his daughter Marta, a graduate in oenology.
Nicknamed "Citric" for his critical mind and rigor, Giuseppe managed the vineyards with meticulous care. His philosophy of winemaking is rooted in tradition, emphasizing vineyard care and meticulous attention to detail and continues to be the driving force of how things continue on into today. Their production has only grown, specializing in Barolo and other typical Piedmontese wines, remaining a true symbol of excellence and honouring their past.
The Brunate vineyard is predominately located in La Morra village but extends down the hill into the town of Barolo itself. It has always been considered a “grand cru” and historical site for making ageworthy Barolos
Brunate is located on a steep slope ranging from 230 meters to approx. 400 meters altitude. It seems that the elevation is the real difference when comparing winery parcels from this cru. Most of the vineyards are facing full south which may be more sensitive to warmer vintages.
