Meet Our Producers
Whilst our webshop and wine selections we procure for our private clients are bottles we drink ourselves and stand by unconditionally, we also import a small but mighty selection of wines from across the world. Our producers grace the tables of Michelin Starred restaurants globally and in some cases, have cult collector followings. Each of our imports is a small, family owned business and operates with one thing in common... the highest quality produce. Deepen your understanding of these phenomenal, artisanal vignerons below, and shop their wines here.

About: “Capreolus – it is the latin name of the most beautiful of all deer, the roe, Capreolus Capreolus. Delicate, slipping away, this animal is a constant accompaniment to picking in the surrounding countryside, a reminder of the fleeting nature of what we are trying to preserve”.
Caprelous are quickly becoming cult spirit makers,

About: There are plenty of bottoms, but only one Breaky Bottom. It’s almost a pilgrimage trying to visit the ethereal Peter Hall, following a suspension-killing dirt track for what feels like eternity, until the tiny enclave, a mere 4ha comes into view. First planted in 1976, Peter Hall has been working his vines with the utmost attention and care, sometimes, not even producing anything if he deems the vintage not up to scratch. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Seyval Blanc are planted, with varying combinations of each variety going into wines named after people Peter holds dearly. He is a storyteller, and gosh, do his wines tell a story too. Only released when ready, Peter’s wines are easily among the best in England. Elegant, gastronomic delights which are a picture of the vintage and site.

About: “Why organic? ‘Because why would anyone put chemicals in food or in the soil?’ Kristin Syltevik was told countless times that organic grape growing could not be done in Britain, because the land is too wet, with too much disease pressure as a result.” Excerpt from Ed Dallimore’s The Vineyards of Britain
Among the larger wholly organic estates in England, Oxney is only 7km from the coast, situated on sandy loam. Kristin sold her internationally renowned PR firm in 2012, with the first release of Oxney

Denomination: Organic
Specialty: Long and slow fermentations, single varietal cidres
About: Since the 1950s, Maison Francois Séhédic has been producing award winning, organic cidres from a small family orchard in La Forêt-Fousenant in Southern Brittany. Spread over a generous 20 south facing acres, a mere 4km from the coast in a small enclave, the apples are protected from the harsh prevailing winds of the Atlantic. Soil is schistous, which adds a mineral tinge to all the ciders produced. Over 30 varieties of apples are grown on over 9000 individual trees at Maison Séhédic, a diversity necessary for producing authentic and distinctive cidres in a range of styles.

About: Manon is going from strength to strength since taking over her father's domain. Farmed entirely sustainably, remaining very firm in this belief. Whilst the Moutardier brothers were crowned best young Pinot Noir producers two years back,, Manon received the same award for her Chardonnay, so she’s truly a producer to watch. Minuscule quantities are produced, with each released being composed as a ‘collection’, with polaroids on the labels denoting the style, or the aura of the juice inside. Personally, Manon is a truly wonderful and vibrant character; a part time firefighter, an ex-nurse and a huge lover of every type of music!
Location: Chavot-Courcourt, Valle-de-la-Marne
Denomination: Organic / Organic Conversion
Specialty: Sans Soufre
About: The energy of Fabian Daveaux, winemaker and head of the Chavot-Courcourt co-operative, Champagne Chavost, is contagious. He lights up a room with his humour and honesty. No shits given. Though, Fabian turns serious when talking about his wines, and organics. His passion radiates into the bottles, and his approach to sulphur is particularly dogmatic, to say the least. Fabian’s wines are growing in reputation and have a cult following across the globe. It’s easy to see why. Stunning labels designed by his brother, with an equally vibrant and lightfooted personality within the bottles too. The Co-Operative started in 1946, and the keen eyed of you will notice this date embossed into recent bottlings. Though, in 2019, Fabian made the brave decision to begin to turn the entire co-operative organic

About: If you ask a French wine lover about Doyard, they'll be wax lyrical. Cult status has well and truly been achieved. They're history fanatics too, with all the cuvées, from the names to the traditional bottles, paying hommage to French ancestry. Visiting the winery in the heart of Vertus is like stepping back in time. Chardonnay specialists, with all wines seeing a delicate touch of oak. Truly some of the most vinous Champagnes I've had the pleasure of tasting

About: You'll have heard of Guillaime Selosse. He buys grapes from this monopole, Largillier, for his own Largillier Cuvée. It's a monopole owned by Jérôme Coessens; the monopole has been in his family for 5 generations. It was only in 2006 that the was decision made to make wine under the Coessens label. Jérôme very much believes wine is made in the vineyard, and treats the vineyard as such, with great care and attention. Split into four sub plots, all planted to Pinot Noir (on Kimmeridgian), this is the Bar's purest expression of Pinot, in my opinion.
Location: Bar-Sur-Seine, Côte des Bar
Denomination: Biodynamic, non-certified

A brother and sister duo, who view minimal intervention in the vineyard and winery highly. They wines are linear, umami and savoury expressions of the Bar.

About: Fatien share the same winemaking ethos as Fabien Deveaux from Champagne Chavost, with the cellars within the heart of Beaune. If you don't need to intervene, you shouldn't. Charly Fatien, the latest generation, does everything himself with the 4ha surrounding Meursault, Rully, Volnay, Pommard and Gevrey Chambertin. In style, Fatien's wines are rich, and designed to age. We do have a number of back vintages, too, so please ask. Extremely low yielding vines is key to the intensity of the wines crafted by Fatien.

Specialty: Floral and elegant Nebbiolo
About: Some of the best value Nebbiolo you'll find Monchiero started off selling grapes alone in the 50s, turning their hands to wine in the 90s. Situated in the heart of the Castiglione de Falletto, the Monchiero's own holdings in prime Barolo vineyards. Everything was replanted in the 90s using traditional grafting techniques. All wines (apart from the Arneis) sees an amount of Slavonian oak, preserving the purity of the Nebbiolo. Work is carried out totally organically and with an eye on environmental impact, no unnecessary intervention, as with all our wines! The Nebbiolo d'Alba is my go to weekday wine, 94pt Decanter if that means anything. It's a wonderful demonstration of the pure Monchiero style. After, they become more serious. La Morra is by far the most dainty of the Barolo. Pernano Riserva has such untapped potential, too.

About: 7ha, all planted to Sangiovese were planted from the 1970s, despite the family having vines on their farm as far back as the 19th century. Warm but well tamed Sangiovese. Rosso is exceedingly good value from a 500m altitude, amphitheatre vineyard. Bramante is a homage to the founder of Sanlorenzo, Bramante Ferretti, and only made in superb years.
The producers below are ones not imported by Cépage, but wines we religiously stand by for their exceptional quality and have phenomenal access to. Though, this is by no means the limit of what we offer! Please get in touch directly for stocks and vintages.
