WELCOME TO THE WINE CELEBRATION
Every bottle we select is a wine we believe in, from exciting vineyards and winemakers we champion.
The Cépage bottles are meant to be drunk, shared and loved. We will always advocate enjoyment, fun and discovery.
Cépage in French, from encépagement, means the proportion of grapes in a wine blend. It is vital you know exactly what’s in your bottle, from the grapes and soil, to the family behind its making. Cépage is the brainchild of a sommelier and designer, keen to express their love for their respective industries. Like the founders, Cépage is young, dynamic and fun.
Cépage is a space for you to enjoy real sommelier expertise from the comfort of your electronic device. The wine shop has been curated in the same way you might see a restaurant wine lists made, a mixture of fine and fun wine for you to delve into, be as experimental or as safe with your choices as you want to be. Oh, and don't forget, we are ALWAYS on hand to provide a recommendation or two! It's split into two, between everyday "VINO", and the "CELLAR SELECTION", prizes wines from the world's most renowned producers and vintages.
The cars we drive, the clothes we wear and the music we listen to help us forge our individuality. So too, does the wine we drink. Natural wine and skin contact wonders have kicked back against the previously austere, boring and two-dimensional wine industry. That industry of the past echoed through wine shops, supermarkets and restaurants for decades, coaxing us into needing Bordeaux En Primeur, Grand Marque Champagne and Grand Cru Burgundy. There is a place for both, and a place for everything.
Cépage advocates drinking what you like, however you like. That is the modern way. There should no longer be any judgement about what’s in our glasses. We bring together the love of all things wine, in the most fun, energetic and passionate way. You will find everything at Cépage any wine lover could wish for. A place for wine lovers to congregate and celebrate our beloved grape juice. From £10 gems to personalised cellars where the sky is the limit, from Learn Your Grapes subscriptions to boozy wine picnics and bespoke pop-up bars. Anything is possible in the world of wine, and at Cépage. Drinking together should be fun, and we raise a glass to whatever is in yours.
Harry
Harry found wine through pure ignorance. In his time studying his master’s in Maastricht in the Netherlands, he attended cellar auctions and bought wine on a measly student budget that was often older than him. It was captivating and humbling to know so little about something, he says.
Harry changed his career plans to pursue wine, originally planning to work a vintage in Central Otago in New Zealand, he stumbled across a junior sommelier job at the prestigious Wiltons in St James, London. Under the supervision of Yohann Pinol, a respected and experienced sommelier, Harry opened some of the world’s best wines in his tenure. Harry then moved to become Head of Beverage at FOLIE, in 2019, earning a place in the top 100 wine lists in the UK. Unfortunately, FOLIE fell victim to COVID-19 and the unprecedented economic situation.
Now, Harry works on Cépage full time. He has been talked about in Seven Fifty Daily, Imbibe an Vogue as a pioneering and dedicated wine professional. Hired by the likes of Chanel, Cartier and Hackett London, Harry is a well renowned wine host and private sommelier. He also consults for Home Bargains, revitalising their wine offering in over 600 stores nationwide.
When it comes to wine styles, the older the better, especially if it's Barolo, Bordeaux or from the Rhône Valley.
